Remix contains a unique blend of highly refined paraffinic oil (aliphatic hydrocarbons) combined with hexahydric alcohol ethoxylates and C18-C20 fatty acids. This tailored formulation delivers a highly effective triple-effect mode of action.
Spray droplets less than 100 microns are prone to drift. Remix reduces the amount of droplets of this size, improving the target rate of herbicides and therefore their efficacy.
Correct spray deposition is important in achieving high levels of weed control from residual herbicides.
Since there is little or no crop canopy at pre or post emergence, treatments are subject to turbulence under the spray boom resulting in uneven coverage.
Remix ensures droplets land uniformly beneath the spray boom, particularly effective with air inclusion nozzles that are often used to apply residual herbicides.
The specialised long chain aliphatic hydrocarbons found in Remix coat a herbicide’s active ingredient in a layer of charged particles that increase adsorption to clay colloids and organic matter. This ensures the herbicide is retained in the active zone in the upper soil layer for longer, improving weed control and reducing crop phytotoxic effects.
A long-term trial by Agrovista investigating blackgrass control has shown the addition of Remix to a residual herbicide stack increases control by an average of 11%.
Crop safety and herbicide selectivityA glasshouse study by Agrochemex investigated how Remix can improve herbicide selectivity, and therefore support crop safety. The study looked at the effects of clomazone on oilseed rape, applied with and without Remix.
The combination of improved oilseed rape establishment and better weed control can increase winter hardiness and therefore yield potential.
Trials conducted by Agrovista Research and Development across two sites investigated the impact of seed rate, drilling technique and herbicide (metazachlor, dimethenamid-p and quinmerac), applied with or without Remix. Dry conditions in the autumn favoured higher seed rates, but at both sites the addition of Remix gave consistent yield responses.
