A blend of pH buffers, acidifiers, water conditioning agents, humectants and sequestrants.
Certain plant protection products can be affected by pH and water quality. Alkaline hydrolysis occurs both in the spray tank and on the leaf surface causing breakdown of the active ingredient.
The rate of hydrolysis increases with pH and temperature. Hard water contains a higher concentration of Ca++ and Mg++.
This can lead to phytotoxicity and create incompatibility problems. The salt can bind/lock up the pesticide e.g. 200ppm of Ca salts reduces glyphosate performance by 30%.
